Warm Front aim to ensure that the more vulnerable UK homeowners have a good standard of efficient heating and insulation within their homes, to ensure their homes are kept warm all year round. Replacing old uneconomical boilers with high quality A-Grade boilers willnot only heat your home more effectively and efficiently but also lower your energy bills because more modern high quality boilers use less energy to heat the home then older style boilers. Your current boiler may only give you heat or hot water not at the same time, under the Warm Front boiler scheme you could be eligible for a top of the range Combination Boiler or Combi Boiler that will heat your home and give you hot water on demand when you need it, rather then having to wait for the hot water to heat up.
If your Warm Front technical surveyor believes you would benefit most from a new full central heating system under the Warm Front grant this includes: A new top of the range A-Grade efficient boiler as well as up to 6 new radiators one radiator in each of the main living areas! You can discuss the type of radiators with your surveyor, although double radiators are preferable as they heat the rooms quicker. A full installation usually takes around 2-3 days on average, depending on the nature of the work required, for instace the amount of pipework required. Consequently a boiler replacement would take roughly 1 day.
Consequently if your existing boiler is relatively new and efficient it just requires a replacement part or a repair then your Warm Front surveyor can put you through for a boiler repair. Once your installers have the part required they can usually complete the repair within one day.
Under the Warm Front grant scheme you may also be eligible for loft insulation, cavity wall insulation and draught proofing, to ensure your home is lovely and warm and no heat can escape. A poor insulated or draughty house if often cold as heat escapes through the cavity within the walls, at the same time cold air from the outside can get into the house. An insulated home will reduce your energy bills as you will not need to have your heating on for as long or for as high.
A Warm Front Grant will save you money on your energy bills as well as improve the quality of heat in your home, keeping you and your family healthy and warm! Click on one of the links on this page to learn more about the Warm Front grant.
